Who Am I?

I’m Batıkan Senemoğlu, a self-taught software developer currently working at one of the most successful and thriving startups in Turkey.

I studied Computer Programming at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Çanakkale, where I grew up. Though the time I started developing precedes my formal education.

I began my career editing ASP scripts when I was 13. My fascination with the open-source community began when I started exploring popular PHP scripts such as PHPNuke and SMF for an amateur gaming project with my friends. The concept of open-contribution and progress enchanted me and I knew in an instant about what I wanted to do in life.

After graduating from college, I freelanced for a while mainly on web projects. I started working in a local company developing a website about online hotel reservations. I gained a lot of knowledge about Elasticsearch during my work there.

I decided to move to Istanbul to challenge myself and to work in more complex projects that required a different approach, being able to handle load in an efficient way.

I’m currently working at OTO.NET, constantly trying to improve myself as a software developer and a person. My current focus is the use of Javascript MVC frameworks such as AngularJS and ReactJS in real-time applications making use of Restful API’s and WebSockets. I also develop and contribute to the backend engines of the software (PHP & NodeJS) that my company uses.

This times i'm highly interested Distributed and High Available Systems in Amazon Web Services and CQRS-ES pattern implementation in JavaScript like React Redux.
